Serge Gnabry has admitted Hector Bellerin is faster than him after the Bayern Munich star showed off his pace against Tottenham.

The Germany international is a former Arsenal player and helped Bayern beat Tottenham 3-1 in their final Champions League group game.

Bayern had already qualified for the knockout stages, but turned on the style against Spurs at the Allianz Arena.

Serge Gnabry did not get on the scoresheet, Kingsley Coman, Thomas Muller and Philippe Coutinho scored Bayern’s goals, but the forward was asked about Bellerin after the game.

Asked who was quicker, Gnabry said: ‘Him. He’s skinny like that, he eats grass. He is so quick’

Bellerin would have been pleased to see Gnabry beat Tottenham in Bayern colours, although Arsenal fans continue to curse their luck when it comes to the 24-year-old.

Gnabry left Arsenal to join Werder Bremen in search of first-team football and has blossomed into a real superstar since signing for Bayern in 2017.

Bayern are one of the favourites to win the Champions League and could draw Chelsea in the last 16 of the competition.

Chelsea joined Premier League rivals Liverpool, Manchester City and Tottenham in the knockout stages by beating Lille on Tuesday night.

Rio Ferdinand thinks defending champions Liverpool are the strongest side and has backed the Reds to win successive Champions League titles.

‘It’s a clean sweep for Liverpool, they just look the more complete team,’ he said.

‘They’ve just got a mentality, once you win, they’ve been on the cusp of winning for a couple of years but they got over that line, they won the big one, the Champions League.

‘They look like they’re going to win the Premier League now, I think they’ve just got a mentality now that they’re not going to lose. ‘Before a ball’s even kicked: “We’re not going to lose this game, we’re going to win”.’
