Selena Gomez has wished that she could have written Adele’s smash hit single Hello.

The singer opened up about her passion for music during a chat with Capital FM, and she was quizzed on which song she wishes she could have put pen to paper for.

And it turns out she’s a pretty big Adele fan.

‘I would have wanted to do either Send My Love (To Your New Lover) or Hello,’ she revealed. ‘I wish I would have written something like that.’

However, she also admitted that she could ‘never touch an Adele song in her life’, and would never attempt to cover any of her tracks.

She was also asked what the first song she ever loved was – and it was a LeAnn Rimes classic.

‘It’s I Hope You Dance, it’s a country song, me and my nanna used to love it, so it makes me think of home,’ she continued.

‘It’s a sweet song, I cry every time [I listen to it].’

The 27-year-old also revealed that she does not think she currently has a song that reminds her of being in love.

‘I don’t know if I have one,’ she said. ‘Yeah, I don’t think I have one.’

Selena recently released her third studio album Rare, and some fans think that one track on the album, Cut You Off, is about her ex-boyfriend Justin Bieber.

Which seems pretty plausible, after the album’s first two singles, Lose You To Love Me and Look At Her Now, were said to be about the Yummy hitmaker.

In Cut You Off, Selena talks about getting rid of the ‘extra weight’ she has been hauling around for ‘1460 days’, which is four years exactly.

She sings: ‘Pull up to the mirror staring at my face / Gotta chop chop all the extra weight I’ve been carrying for fourteen-hundred-sixty days.

‘Professionally messing with my trust / How could I confuse that s**t for love?’

Fans later took to social media to speculate over the song and whether or not it was meant to about Justin.

Although we’re not entirely convinced – as Selena and Justin notably had an on and off relationship between 2010 and 2017.

The two did date other people during breaks in that timeframe, however, so who knows?
