Selena Gomez has addressed her relationship status after being spotted at the same restaurant as her ex-boyfriend.
The Lose You To Love Me singer was pictured entering La Esquina restaurant in New York City’s Soho area on Tuesday night, coincidentally around the same time her former flame Samuel was seen arriving.
It’s the first time the pair had been spotted in the same vicinity after they dated in November 2015, and rumours were rife they had rekindled their romance.
However, Selena insists she’s very much single and not actively looking to date anyone.
Clarifying the situation in an Instagram story, Selena said: ‘I am not dating anyone. I’ve been single for two years.
‘I’m on God’s timing not mine.’
It’s likely Selena was referring to her romance with Justin Bieber, after they reconciled briefly in 2017 when they were seen enjoying multiple dates.
But their reunion didn’t last long and they separated again in March 2018 after previously dating when they were younger for three years.
Selena, 27, spoke out about her relationship status again while on Zach Sang’s Sirius XM show last week.
‘I’ve been super, super single for two years,’ Selena revealed to the host.
‘I want to know what that love will look like next for me. I want it to be real and I don’t want it to be co-dependent or messy or lack of communication.’
She added: ‘It sucked for the first year, I was like, “I just want to cuddle. I just want to watch something and be adored”. But ya, now it feels good. Now it feels awesome.’
Earlier this month, there were also rumours that Selena had struck up a romance with Niall Horan after being spotted hanging out together, but sources said they were just friends.
Fans are excited that Selena has returned with her brand new single, Lose You To Love Me, but they were shocked to hear her apparently throw shade at her ex Justin and his new wife Hailey Baldwin.
It features Selena sing about being ‘replaced’ in two months ‘like it was easy’. She also shades an ex for ‘singing off-key’.
