Secret Ubisoft game leaked as Roller Champions

Roller Champions – Ubisoft’s answer to Rocket League?

One of Ubisoft’s big E3 surprises seems to have spoiled, as footage emerges of what looks like a cross between Rollerball and Rocket League.

There’s still no evidence of that Splinter Cell reboot everyone keeps hoping for, but there has been a major leak of what seems to be a major new IP from Ubisoft, called Roller Champions.

The leak emerged via website Spiel Times and appears to be some kind of roller derby style multiplayer game. They’ve got a hold of key art, video footage, screenshots, and even a controller layout – so there doesn’t seem much chance that it’s fake.

Apparently the game is multiplayer-only, with two teams of five roller-skaters, but it’s unclear what formats it will be released for beyond PC.

The graphics do look surprisingly simplistic but that’s probably because it’s very early footage, with Spiel Times claiming that a second private alpha is due to start in a couple of days.

Apparently the first alpha finished only recently, so that’s probably where this info came from.

As well as the recently announced Ghost Recon: Breakpoint, Ubisoft is widely expected to reveal a new Watch Dogs 3 at E3 – although that’s been rumoured a few times now so it’s not necessarily a given.

The fact that neither it nor Watch Dogs has been leaked yet is also suggestive, although there’s still over a week to go yet…
