The Second Coming of Christ was promised in the Bible by the Gospels by Jesus Himself, as well as the Book of Revelation, The Second Epistle of Peter and even the Old Testament. In Matthew 24, Jesus told his disciples no one but God above knows when this day will come, and when it does, it will strike unannounced like the flood of Noah. Revelation 19 states Christ will arrive with the hosts of Heaven to build his Messianic Kingdom on Earth – a kingdom that will last for 1,000 years
Even the Hebrew prophet Ezekiel spoke of a great battle before the Messiah’s arrival, speaking of “The Holy One in Israel”.
Ezekiel 39 reads: “So I will make My holy name known among My people Israel and will no longer allow it to be profaned.
“Then the nations will know that I am the LORD, the Holy One in Israel.
“Yes, it is coming, and it will surely happen, declares the Lord GOD. This is the day of which I have spoken.”
The various accounts of the Second Coming differ from author to author but Tom Meyer, a professor of Bible studies at Shasta Bible College and Graduate School in California, US, believes they all come to the same conclusion, albeit from a slightly different angle.

Before the Second Coming happens, Professor Meyer described an event known as the sudden Rapture of the Chuch – the disappearance of faithful Christians from the face of the Earth.
He has now told Express.co.uk of how the Apostle Peter described the terrifying yet glorious day of Christ’s return.
He said: “The biblical authors and their individual apocalyptic descriptions of the end times all have one thing in common, they are all relating the same event: the Second Coming of Christ.
“Using their own personalities, backgrounds, etc, each author describes the most important event in human history to come from their own perspective.
Professor Meyer explained: “Very few will believe the message that there is a God and he is returning in judgment, just as no one believed the preaching of Noah until it was too late.
“Along those lines, Peter encourages Christians not to succumb to the conventional wisdom of the world and give up on the hope that Christ will return, possibly in your lifetime.”
Peter also describes a divine intervention by God that will manifest on a global scale after the Second Coming.
This intervention will be on the scale of Noah’s flood, bringing terrible devastation to the world.
Although this time, the Bible prophesies the world will be purged not with water but with fire.
Professor Meyer said: “The global judgment will come upon the Earth suddenly and unexpectedly like a thief in the night.
“The world’s worst nightmare will come true: the God whom they have rejected and His Son whom they have blasphemed is returning in power to judge.
“When Christ returns, the heavens will pass away with great sounds of terror.
“The Earth will be wiped clean by the wrath of God; the very fabric of reality will be ripped to shreds, and He will start over again with the establishment of the long-foretold kingdom of the Jewish Messiah which will last for 1,000 years.”
