SeaWorld Orlando is launching a huge new ‘Ice Breaker’ rollercoaster that will go forwards AND backwards before a 93ft drop


SEAWORLD Orlando have a new rollercoaster opening next year called the Ice Breaker with riders being taken backwards down a 93ft drop.

Passengers will also be launched both backwards and forwards during the ride.

The new ride will  open next spring, based around the Alaska SeaLife Center.

It features the steepest beyond vertical drop in Florida, falling at a 100-degree angle.

Passengers will be launched twice throughout the ride – twice forwards and twice backwards.

The rollercoaster is also family friendly, with a height requirement of 48 inches (4ft).

The rollercoaster will allow two 18-passenger carriages to use the ride at one time, working out to 720 riders per hour.

SeaWorld are also building a record-breaking dive rollercoaster in California.

The unnamed coaster will be the “tallest, fastest and longest” in the world, and will open next summer.

SeaWorld tickets start from $85 (£68) for a single park, one day visit.

Other new rollercoasters coming soon include the tallest, fastest and longest rollercoaster in the world in Saudi Arabia, called the the Falcon’s Flight with speeds of up to 155mph.

A 21-storey gigacoaster will open next year in the US, featuring a 300ft drop.

Orion will be just one of seven gigacoasters in the world.
