Arsenal left-back Sead Kolasinac admits he needs to see a specialist for a shoulder problem picked up in the 3-2 win over Everton on Sunday.

The Bosnian landed awkwardly after an aerial duel with defender Djibril Sidibe and was seen clutching his right arm in severe pain.

Before the second-leg of Arsenal’s Europa League clash against Olympiacos on Thursday, boss Mikel Arteta conceded the signs with Kolasinac’s injury are ‘not very positive’.

When asked whether he could play again this season the Spaniard said: ‘Hopefully he can return, it depends if it’s dislocated and he needs surgery.’

The Gunners’ injury crisis at full-back continues, with summer signing Kieran Tierney also yet to return from his own shoulder problem.

The former Celtic defender sustained a dislocated shoulder in the 3-1 victory at West Ham in December, and is due back in full training at the end of this month.

Those injuries mean Arteta will be forced to persist with out-of-position winger Bukayo Saka in defence against Greek side Olympiacos.

The 18-year-old has been in sparkling form for the Gunners, with the cross for Eddie Nketiah’s goal against Everton his 10th assist in all competitions this campaign.

Arsenal take a slender 1-0 advantage into the game at the Emirates, with Europa League success the most likely route for Champions League football next season.
