SEA LIFE Brighton has released first images of their stunning new £2.7 million attraction, which will be home to more than 840 sea creatures when it opens in May.
The new aquarium space will allow visitors to see the animals in both their day and night environment for the first time.
Due to open on May 25, the new “Day & Night” attraction will feature a huge tunnel that visitors can walk through, with sea creatures swimming all around them.
The attraction is huge – 700,000 litres of water will be pumped in from Hove lagoon.
The journey starts in a “daylight” environment, before the lighting changes into the “night” as they get walk further along the tunnel.
As sea creatures behave differently in daylight and night time environments, the feature will allow visitors to experience 24 hours of the ocean.
A five metre viewing screen will let guest see the ocean by “day”, and they can spot species such as Butterfly Fish, Clown Triggerfish and Sweetlips.
And when they enter the “night” area, they will be able to see Nurse Sharks and Popsicle Squirrelfish, which will come out alongside bioluminescent corals that glow in the dark.
Not only that, but the oldest sea turtles in captivity in the UK – 80-year-old Lulu and Gulliver – will also make their return to the new exhibit.
Guests will be able to learn more about the life of the animals, including conservation and global warming, as well as listen in on the hourly talks from marine biologists.
Selfie-lovers can take photos next to a giant Lion Fish mural as well.
