Scrubs: How to watch Scrubs series online and download

US medical comedy-drama Scrubs debuted back in 2001 and followed a group of junior doctors who began their internship at the fictional Sacred Heart Hospital. Narrating the series was the idealistic, wide-eyed newly qualified medic John “J.D.” Dorian (played by Zach Braff). Scrubs saw JD and his friends Elliot Reid (Sarah Chalke), Christopher Turk (Donald Faison) and Carla Espinosa (Judy Reyes) grow over the course of almost 10 years as they worked at Sacred Heart.

The series was conceived by writer Bill Lawrence, whose previous credits include Spin City, Boy Meets World and Cougar Town.

Lawrence based JD on his college friend Dr John Doris and some of his experiences as a medical intern.

In fact, some of the characters’ names were inspired by real people, while the names of real-life doctors often made it into the episodes.

Scrubs was smash hit and ran for a total of nine seasons with the majority of the cast departing after the eighth series.

During its time on screen, Scrubs was nominated for a slew of awards including Golden Globes, Television Critics Association Awards, Emmys and Satellite Awards, among others.

The first episode dropped on March 31 with the two stars sharing titbits about auditioning for their now iconic roles.

They also spoke about working on the show and their first day on set.

Braff explained: “So we’re going to do it like this. For the foreseeable future, every week we’ll be coming to you, talking about the next episode of the show.

“Hopefully, you’ll watch it along with us because that’s kind of the idea. If you watch the episode, we’ll shoot the s*** about that episode.”

Speaking about the pilot, Braff said he felt “very nostalgic”, while Faison said: “Just how young we were, first of all.

“We were so young. I was 26 at the time and I’m 45 turning 46 this year and that was 20 years ago.”

Fake Doctors, Real Friends will also be featuring special guests who will talk through the episodes with hosts Braff and Faison.
