Scots TikTok star sparks 'diluting juice' or 'squash' row

One Scots TikTok star has divided the internet after he sparked a debate about ‘diluting juice’.

Paul Black posted a video on his TikTok page, where he asks an English friend if they would like a drink.

But his friend is confused as he says ‘diluting juice’.

In the video, Paul can be seen in the kitchen making himself a drink when he calls to a friend off camera.

He says: “Do you want some diluting juice?

And an English accent replies: “Some what?!”

Paul says: “Diluting juice?”

Paul sparked the ‘diluting juice or squash’ debate.

And still the English voice has no idea what he means, and even when he repeats himself, the ‘voice’ is still no further forward.

After losing his patience, Paul resides to ‘praying to god’ when a picture of Nicola Sturgeon appears on a saltire flag.

He says: “Dear God, please forgive me for what I am about to say, I’m really sorry and I’m so embarrassed that I am going to have to do this. Please forgive me!”

He adds: “Would you like…. would you like some squash?”

Paul divided the internet.

And the voice says: “Oh go on then!”

The video has been viewed over 1.7 million times and many of his followers commented on the video.

One said: “It’s the Nicola Sturgeon pic for me.”

Another added: “People who call it squash are not my kinda people.”

One wrote: “I’ve never heard diluting juice in my life.”

While one said: “It’s absolutely diluting juice, keep spreading the truth.”

And another disagreed: “It’s cordial!!”

Last year on Love Island, Scots contestant Wallace Wilson also left his fellow Islanders confused when he referred to the drink as ‘diluting juice’.

Rochelle Hume’s sister Sophie had no idea what Wallace was talking about when he said he used to drink vodka with diluting juice to prevent him from getting a hangover.

Wallace’s dinner date looked baffled by what he was saying and even struggled to pronounce it.

Essex girl Sophie soon realised he was talking about ‘squash’, but struggled to understand why he was calling it diluting juice.

What do you call it? Let’s squash this debate once and for all!
