CHRISTMAS might still be a few months away but that hasn’t stopped eager parents from getting a head start on the mammoth task that is shopping for presents.
But it’s not hard to see why as both Argos and Asda are having massive toy sales with many parents taking advantage of the heavily discounted prices. And why not?
On thrilled shopper revealed she spent just £200 on her order from Argos on what should have been over £700 worth of toys for her kids – and managed to get everything she needed for Christmas.
Sharing snaps of her massive collection on the Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK Facebook group, she wrote: “£707 worth of toys for £202 Argos clearance sale managed to finish my children’s Christmas shopping and the last 2 birthdays I have this year.”
Among her new purchases was a range on monster trucks and cars, a dollhouse and even a Toy Story 4 Buzz Lightyear toy.
Many bargain-hunters were both shocked and thrilled by the savvy shopper’s finds and were eager to check out the clearance sale themselves.
There is still huge range of toys on offer from the site, but many shoppers have reported items not being available for delivery near them.
“Well done, great bargains, how I wish my kids were little again, now it’s dr martens, expensive clothes and trainers,” one person shared.
And another said: “Wow well done! Everything I’ve tried to get is out of stock.”
Elsewhere, another shopper walked out of Adsa with a wide range of toys and fun stuff for the kids and was absolutely chuffed to have only spent £80.
Sharing her haul online, she wrote: “Christmas shopping [has] started in my house. 80 pound for all this in Asda’s sale. Will have two very happy children.”
Commenting on the post, one woman shared: “Went to my Asda last night and got a few bits that were left on the shelf half the price of the ticketed price.”
And another admitted: “I have completed my daughter’s Christmas with all amazing bargains started my daughter’s 2nd birthday too (next July).”
The Asda toy sale appears to be in-store only with many others saying they’ve picked up various bits and pieces for some pretty good prices.
