Ant and Dec are remaining defiant – Saturday Night Takeaway will go on this weekend despite coronavirus grinding the TV industry to a halt.

However, the duo have shared a picture of themselves in their ‘very different’ script meeting from the comfort of their own homes but someone was noticeable absent: Stephen Mulhern.

This weekend the boys will deliver a much needed Saturday Night Takeaway without their studio audience for the very first time.

It will be an odd one, but if anyone can bring the smiles, it’s Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly

‘A quick hello from a very different #SaturdayNightTakeaway script meeting!’ they tweeted to their 6.7 million followers.

‘We’ll massively miss our studio audience but the show will go on this weekend. Stay safe everyone, we’ll see you on the telly this Saturday.’

But fans were concerned the boys won’t be joined by Steve.

Fear not, guys. Metro.co.uk can assure Stephen will be in the studio with Ant and Dec this weekend.

Saturday Night Takeaway is one of the few shows charging ahead as the coronavirus outbreak deepens more and more each day.

Confirming the news this week, ITV said: ‘Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway will go ahead this weekend without a studio audience. Our priority is safeguarding the well-being of everyone involved.

‘The show will be made with a reduced production crew and in accordance with the latest guidance from Public Health England. The team are looking forward to bringing our viewers a brilliant show on Saturday evening.’

Saturday Night Takeaway continues Saturday (obviously) at 7pm on ITV.
