Saturday Kitchen: ‘I’m not eating it’ Jon Richardson stuns chef with surprise admission

Saturday Kitchen aired a vegan and vegetarian special today to celebrate Jon Richardson on the BBC show.

The comedian was well and truly spoiled with some delicious recipes from the likes of Tommy Banks, Paul Young and today’s host, Glynn Purnell.

Paul prepared a vegan chocolate torte which was completely dairy-free yet filled to the brim with chocolate and nuts.

However, Jon giggled how he didn’t want to eat it after Paul admitted his creation wouldn’t be quite perfect.

Towards the end of the recipe, the chef needed to decorate his creation and mixed grated chocolate with edible gold shimmer powder.

Paul explained: “You take the chocolate – any variety – and grate it on to a plate.

“Mix it with this gold lustre, which you can get online and in supermarkets now, just to sparkle up the chocolate a little bit.”

He then proceeded to pat some of the golden dust around the edge of his creation.

“I’m not being too careful,” Paul admitted. “You know, this is a little bit handmade.

“If it goes off centre a little bit, don’t worry,” the chef reassured.

Glynn added: “It’s not the end of the world. Don’t worry, Jon!”

The comment came off the back of Jon’s new show, Ultimate Worrier, which airs on Dave.

Quick as ever, Jon dryly joked: “I’m not eating it.”

Glynn exclaimed while everyone else erupted in giggles: “It’s off centre!”

Of course, when it came to it, Jon thoroughly enjoyed the scrumptious creation and dived right in to taste it.

Meanwhile, Twitter fans were desperate to get their own hands on the chocolate torte and flocked to share their thoughts.
