Sancho to Man Utd transfer EXCLUSIVE, Chelsea and Liverpool Werner twist, Arsenal warned

Sadio Mane replacement

It goes without saying that Sadio Mane is a huge part of Liverpool’s plans moving forward, but pundit Kevin Phillips has claimed the Reds may have already signed him replacement.

“Klopp has eased him in gently. That is good management,” Phillips told Football Insider.

“Do not put pressure on the kid straight away and let him get to know the squad.

“Of course, trying to dislodge one of that front-three is hard but he has had some game time.

“He is one of those that Klopp has in place if Sadio Mane was to leave or Firmino.

“Maybe there is a replacement there, but when you have those three at your club you are not getting in front of them.

“You have to be patient. He looks like he has qualities.

“At times he found it difficult to get into the game when he has come on but he looks like a decent. Given time he will be a good one.”

Jadon Sancho to Man Utd latest

Manchester United are determined to complete a transfer for Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho this summer.

But the England winger will still cost over £100million despite the coronavirus crisis.

That’s according to University of Liverpool senior teacher and football finance expert Kieran Maguire.

Maguire exclusively told Express Sport: “You’ve got to look at it on a deal by deal basis.

“First of all Manchester United have a strong balance sheet, they had £100m in the bank at the end of December, I appreciate that since then they have signed Bruno Fernandes.

“But even so Manchester United are very successful, they’ve got great commercial revenue generation so I think they are in a strong position to buy then you’ve got to look at the individual position of the clubs that are selling.

“Dortmund, I think will be in a relatively strong position to resist offers, or resist the first offer.”

Timo Werner transfer twist

Liverpool or Chelsea could be a step closer to signing RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner as the German club are on the verge of signing his replacement, according to reports in Germany.

The Reds have been heavily linked with Werner, who reportedly has a £51million release clause in his contract.

The 24-year-old is having another stunning season for Leipzig and so far this campaign he has scored 27 goals in 36 appearances in all competitions.

However, he could now be on the verge of being allowed to leave the club this summer as according to German publication Weser Kurier, Leipzig are close to signing Werder Bremen striker Milot Rashica.

The 23-year-old is also having a great season and has scored 10 goals and provided five assists in 24 appearances in all competitions this campaign.

This goalscoring form is even more impressive given that Werder Bremen currently sit in the relegation zone in the Bundesliga and are eight points from safety.

“If he wants to leave, it will be difficult for teams to sign him because Arsenal will want a lot of money for him, and of course he is worth it.

“In the current situation teams are looking seriously at their budget and I think it will be hard for clubs to afford him.

“But, I have no doubt that teams will be looking at his situation and taking a lot of interest in it.

“You have to ask if Aubameyang is happy at Arsenal and, if he isn’t, I can understand why.

“Football is about winning trophies and we all know Arsenal are a team that play attractive football but in the end they have been left empty-handed quite a lot of times. That can be frustrating for a player.”
