Sancho could end Rashford’s Man Utd and England career, according to fans

FANS are convinced that Jadon Sancho has ended Marcus Rashford’s England career – and reckon he could do the same at Manchester United.

The 19-year-old scored his first goal for the Three Lions against Kosovo before he doubled his tally just one minute later.

Sancho was named in Gareth Southgate’s staring XI ahead of the Manchester United striker – who had to make do with an appearance off the bench in the 5-3 win.

The Borussia Dortmund ace oozed confidence as he slotted the ball past Arijanet Muric to make it 4-1 in the 44th minute.

And just one minute later he found the net again after Raheem Sterling delivered the ball across the box to him.

It was a brilliant performance from Sancho, who also provided the assist for a Kosovo own goal, before Rashford replaced him after 85 minutes.

After watching the match at St Mary’s, fans on Twitter suggested Rashford will have to get used to life on the sidelines when Sancho is around.

One said: “This is why Sancho should be starting ahead of Rashford every time.”

Another claimed: “Marcus Rashford should be nowhere near England’s starting XI with his front three. Sancho is a far superior footballer in every department.”

Sancho has been a huge hit in the Bundesliga – but has not ruled out a return to England amid interest from Manchester United.

And fans are convinced that Rashford will suffer the same fate of being benched if Sancho makes the move to Old Trafford.

One fan said: “Sorry to say it but Rashford is done out here with England unless someone gets inured and when we get Sancho, Daniel James is flying with Martial. No room for mediocre, hopefully he uses this to fix up because I still believe in him.”

But Southgate said before the game that he had not dropped Rashford because of his performances.

When asked why he made the decision, he told ITV: “Freshen the team really.

“We were pleased with both of the full-backs and Marcus but we’ve got some good players to com ein.

“It’s a chance in those wide areas, where there is a heavy load, to fresh the group and there’s some players we want to take a closer look at.”
