Samantha Mumba comeback: Singer eyes judging spot on The Voice

She said: “I’ve always loved The Voice. I think it’s a fantastic format. I love that it’s all about vocal talent rather than someone’s image. That makes it really special.”

Jennifer is quitting her role as a coach after three years. It means producers are now on the hunt for a new star to take her place.

Samantha said: “If there’s a spot available on the show, I would absolutely love to jump in and become a coach.

“After so many years in the industry, it would be amazing to be able to mentor aspiring singers. The show also looks like a lot of fun.”

Back in the day, Samantha’s album Gotta Tell You was six times platinum and she bagged a Grammy nomination.

And this summer she is set to return to music.

Last weekend she thrilled fans with a set at the Mighty Hoopla festival in London. She was on the billing with Chaka Khan, Bananarama and Jamelia.

Tickets for next year’s festival on June 13 have already gone on sale.
