Sam Smith thinks their house is haunted and this is peak quarantine.

The Lay Me Down reckons they spotted a ‘ghost’ in the back of a clip they posted of them singing at home.

The paranormal force in question? A flickering light, of course.

Now, while we want to be scornful, the video is actually pretty eerie so Sam, just hold tight while we ring for back-up.

The 27-year-old had their supernatural suspicions after posting a clip of themselves singing John Legend’s Ordinary People.

They wrote: ‘I’ve been singing this all day today… ‘Ordinary People’ by the incredible @JohnLegend.’

They went on: ‘Singing this is taking me back to a whole different time when I heard his first album and it really made me want to do what I do.

‘So thank you John for this song. xx #StayHome.’

After watching it back, the Grammy winner spotted the dodgy light in the doorway. Enter, panic.

Sam tweeted: ‘Just realised my light was flickering the whole way through that singing video. I swear that’s a ghost, I always hear a ghost on those stairs.’

The Leave Your Lover singer’s followers did little to dispel their fears, with one writing: ‘Spooky. Thought that was special effects.’

Another added: ‘Yeah I keep looking at it!’

A third fan made light (sorry) of the situation, quipping: ‘Just the spirits giving you proper lighting for your performance.’

Sam’s mystical spot comes after they displayed the various stages of a quarantine crisis while self-isolating amid the coronavirus outbreak.

Their emotions ranged from anguish to pure despair, with Sam captioning the snaps: ‘Stages of a quarantine meltdown.’

The singer, who came out as non-binary last year, is currently stepping up security at his £12million London mansion after being burgled twice.

A source told The Sun on Sunday: ‘Security will be a priority for anyone who’s had their house broken into once, let alone twice, and Sam is no exception.

‘The attitude is if more money is needed to make this new home feel safe and comfortable, so be it.’
