Sam Smith has revealed they may not tour again after finding life on the road tough.
The Dancing With A Stranger singer, who recently came out as non-binary, revealed that they’ve ‘had a meltdown’ on every string of dates.
And they find it hard ‘playing catch-up’ with their loved ones when they briefly return home after performing.
According to the Mirror, the 27-year-old said: ‘After every tour I’ve been on, I’ve had a bit of a meltdown, if I’m honest.
‘I don’t want to lose my mind, so I’m scared for the next tour.”
‘I have an on-the-road therapist. There’s many ways to handle it, but the truth is I don’t handle it, I find it really hard.’
Speaking about missing their family, they continued: ‘You go away from all your family and friends for so long and then you come back and everyone’s changed and everything’s changed.
‘You have to play catch-up, but you have to play catch-up knowing full well that you’re going to go again in a year’s time.
‘So it’s really hard but at the same time, it’s incredibly addictive because I get to meet my fans and sing for all of them.
‘I travel to some incredible places and I’m doing what I love when I’m performing and the highs that you feel are incredible.’
Sam recently made headlines after coming out as non-binary in an emotional message, with the Too Good At Goodbyes singer wanting to be referred to using ‘they/them’ pronouns.
Taking to Instagram, they told their 13.8million followers: ‘Today is a good day so here goes. I’ve decided I am changing my pronouns to THEY/THEM.
‘After a lifetime of being at war with my gender I’ve decided to embrace myself for who I am, inside and out. I’m so excited and privileged to be surrounded by people that support me in this decision but I’ve been very nervous about announcing this because I care too much about what people think but f**k it!
‘I understand there will be many mistakes and mis gendering but all I ask is you please please try. I hope you can see me like I see myself now. Thank you.’
They added: ‘P.S. I am at no stage just yet to eloquently speak at length about what it means to be non-binary but I can’t wait for the day that I am. So for now I just want to be VISIBLE and open.
‘Love you all. I’m scared s**tless, but feeling super free right now. Be kind x.’
