Sam Heughan shares adorable letter from matchmaking French schoolkids trying to set him up with teacher


Outlander’s Sam Heughan is sharing the love after receiving an adorable letter from a group of matchmaking French schoolchildren.

The class wrote to the star in a bid to get a shout out for their “cool and kind” English teacher Emma Denam – and a date.

And Superfan Emma was over the moon when her idol took to Twitter to say thanks for the special message.

And though he’s playing a bit hard to get with regards to the other request, his flirty response definitely won’t be breaking Emma’s heart.

Sam said: “Ahhh so sweet!!! Haha they are a very lucky class!! Merci beaucoup! Maybe you can teach me French Emma.”


Emma’s bold year eight class caught the New Galloway actor’s attention with some lovely words about their teacher.

And they proved once and for all, if you don’t ask, you don’t get!

They said: “Dear Sam Heughan.

“We are a year 8 class and we are a French Middle School. We write you this letter because an English teacher loves you!!!

“We love her, she is so cool and kind!

“We want to give her a present: a message from you! Can you do that for us please Mr Heughan!

“Can you also asks her to go on a date with you? She is beautiful and speaks good English and she can buy you pains au chocolat.

“We thank you and we hope you will answer to us. She takes us on a school trip this year. Maybe we will see you there!”

Delighted Emma then replied: “Sincerely Thanks for answering. You’re so kind and sweet Gonna tell them they’ll be so happy! No problem I’ll teach you French anytime you need.”

We’ll be keeping our eyes peeled to see if this long distance love story keeps developing!

Meanwhile Sam, who stars as Jamie Fraser in Outlander , is currently preparing for the fifth season of the hit Starz series to air.

And ahead of its US launch on March 2, he took along a bottle of his own brand whisky The Sassenach to “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert”.

Host Colbert poured the pair a ‘wee half’ each of before handing the Scot his on the rocks.

And, as we reported, the actor looked horrified when the host topped up his drink with a can of lemonade.
