Sally Lindsay talks Coronation Street return as she admits she 'loved it'

Former Coronation Street star Sally Lindsay has admitted she could end up back in Weatherfield, though rumours of an upcoming return sadly aren’t true.

The 46-year-old played Shelley between 2001 and 2006 but has confirmed she hasn’t ruled out ever returning to the ITV soap.

Sally, who is starring in new Channel 5 series Cold Call, appeared on This Morning to speak to Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield.

The hosting duo asked Sally if she’d ever go back to Coronation Street, and she happily replied: “Oh, gosh! I’d never say never. I loved it, it was brilliant.”

However, she also confirmed that she has no current plans to go back at the moment.

Rumours swirled that she was returning, but she explained she was simply filming for a show which looks back at the soap, called Queens of the Street.

She said: “It’s a load of us that have left and done quite well.

“We talked about our memories and it was lovely.”

Queens of the Street will feature a bunch of famous faces that have stepped foot on the cobbles, including Suranne Jones, Julie Goodyear and Sarah Lancashire.

It was first reported this summer, as a way for ITV to celebrate Coronation Street’s 60th anniversary in 2020.

In July, a source told the Mirror: “It’s Corrie’s 60th birthday next year so ITV are planning some special shows to celebrate the landmark.

“The show launched the careers of some of the biggest stars on TV – especially the likes of Suranne and Sarah.

“It’ll be a real celebration of all those women we’ve seen in the Rovers Return.”

This Morning airs weekdays at 10.30am on ITV
