Christopher Cross revealed on Friday that he has been diagnosed with coronavirus.

The 68-year-old singer, who is best known for the super hit songs of the late Seventies Sailing and Ride Like The Wind as well as the Eighties theme to the Dudley Moore movie Arthur, took to Facebook to share the news.

And in his note he made sure to tell fans that COVID-19 is far from a ‘hoax’ as it has left him in plenty of pain. Cross was last photographed on stage in Mexico City on March 7.

‘I’m sorry to report that I am among the growing number of Americans who tested positive for the COVID-19 virus,’ said the star, who has won five Grammy awards. 

‘Although I am fortunate enough to be cared for at home, this is possibly the worst illness I’ve ever had,’ the star continued.

‘For those of you who still do not believe the COVID-19 virus is real, or think it is a “hoax” or part of some conspiracy, my advice to you is to understand right now that this is a deadly illness spreading like wildfire throughout the world.

Cross ended with: ‘PLEASE make every attempt to stall the spread of the virus.’

Last year he was part of the Beatles’ White Album tour with Todd Rundgren. His last album is 2017’s Take Me As I Am.

He was wed to Roseanne Harrison from 1973 until the couple divorced in 1982. His next wife was Jan Bunch – they were wed from 1988 until 2007. 

Cross has a son named Justin from his first marriage, and two children from his second marriage, son Rain and daughter Madison.
