Sadio Mane has admitted he wasn’t best pleased with Liverpool teammate Mohamed Salah after he ignored a pass to him against Burnley, but the pair have now made up.
The Senegalese forward threw a strop in Liverpool’s last outing before the international break after Salah opted not to square the ball for an easy goal, gesticulating wildly in the dugout after he was subbed off.
But he made up for it on Saturday, scoring twice against Newcastle at Anfield to extend Liverpool’s lead at the top of the Premier League to five points.
Salah also got on the scoresheet in the second period after Mane’s first-half brace, and the former Southampton man revealed afterwards that they have now resolved their differences.
‘These are things that happen in football. Sometimes you have to say things face to face,’ Mane told Canal+ when asked about his tantrum at Burnley and rift with Salah.
‘Sometimes it happens that I am not given the pass. But we have reconciled and become the good friends we were before.’
Salah has since poked fun at the incident on social media – tweeting a video of the pair reuniting after their exploits during the international break – while Jurgen Klopp played down the falling out at the time.

The German explained: ‘Mane is an emotional guy, something went not like he wanted. It was obvious he was upset, he cannot hide his emotions at times and I don’t mind that.
‘It happens sometimes in football and he didn’t say any wrong words. We are all still friends. We spoke in the dressing room and he is fine, everything is good and we completely like each other.’
