Sachin Tendulkar hailed Jasprit Bumrah as the ‘best bowler in the world’ after he helped Mumbai Indians defeat Chennai Super Kings in the 2019 Indian Premier League final.
Bumrah claimed two wickets in Sunday’s final – taking his season tally to 19 – as Mumbai clinched a thrilling final-ball victory over three-time champions Chennai.
Kieron Pollard top-scored for Mumbai with 41 as they posted 149-8, but Chennai looked on course to reach the target at 70-1 in the ninth over.
But MS Dhoni’s CSK collapsed and finished two runs short of victory as Lasith Malinga dismissed Shardul Thakur with the final delivery.

Speaking to fellow India great Yuvraj Singh after the match, Tendulkar – the leading run-scorer in the history of international cricket – said: ‘Bumrah was fantastic.
‘Without any doubt, let me go on record and say that he is the best bowler in the world at this stage.
‘The best is yet to come, hopefully.’
Bumrah, named in India’s provisional World Cup squad last month, currently sits at the top of the ICC ODI bowling rankings.
India begin their World Cup campaign on June 5 against South Africa in Southampton.
