Chilling Adventures of Sabrina returned for its third season yesterday (Friday, January 24) following the cliffhanger of series two where fans saw Sabrina’s (played by Kieran Shipka) boyfriend Nick Scratch (Gavin Leatherwood) was stuck in Hell and she needed to go rescue him. Here’s everything you need to know about the ending.

What happened at the end of Sabrina season 3?

Warning: This article contains spoilers from Chilling Adventures of Sabrina season 3.

Two Sabrinas

With Nick in Hell, Sabrina needs to try and set him free but while she is there, she is forced to try and claim the throne from the prince of Hell Caliban (Sam Corlett).

But when things go wrong and she ends up trapped in Hell, there was only person who could help Sabrina and that was Sabrina.

Having previously used her powers of the Unholy Regalia to travel back in time to before all of the problems she started, a future version of the teen was created to come to her rescue.

She sets Present Sabrina free who then goes back into the past to warn the others about what’s to come but doesn’t return the favour by helping Future Sabrina.

Instead she makes a deal with Past Sabrina: Present Sabrina would go back to her life as a normal teenager while Past Sabrina would go to the Pandemoniumm, declare herself as the winner and be crowned Queen of Hell.

Greendale witches replenished

After the Dark Lord fell, the Greendale witches’ powers have been fading and despite trying everything they can think of to get them back up to full strength, they have not been able to do so without him.

But Zelda (Miranda Otto) eventually comes up with an idea after being shot by Ms Wardwell (Michelle Gomez) and spending some time in limbo.

While there, she meets Hilda (Lucy Davis) and Edward (Georgie Daburas) who gives Zelda the idea of finding an alternative to the witches’ powers which had nothing to do with the Dark Lord.

So they decide to pray to their new patron Hecate, the Greek goddess associated with magic and witchcraft and thankfully, their powers start to get stronger.

Eldritch Terrors

While Sabrina and her friends have been busy trying to save everyone, Father Blackwood (Richard Coyle) has been more or less left to his own devices.

He finishes off the ritual and ends up summoning the eldritch terrors.

He has seen their powers and what they can do so starts worshiping them instead of Lucifer.

But what will this mean for the people of Greendale?
