Rylan Clark-Neal has replied to concerns about his health and admitted to fans that he ‘wasn’t good’, but reassured them he is now and he’s looking forward to returning to work.
Rylan who split with his husband Dan Neal recently after being married for six years had been unable to commit to certain work projects including the semi-final coverage of the Eurovision Song Contest in May.
He said at the time: “I have taken time away from work as I am not in a good place at the moment and am seeking help.
“I am trying to take each day at a time and would like to thank everyone for their support and for respecting our privacy at this time.”
After 10 weeks absence from his work Rylan then returned to his Radio 2 show in September.
In his return he said: “It does feel good to be back and I am feeling better.”
Rylan has spoken out following reports that BBC bosses urged him him to take a year off work.
He wrote on his Twitter: “Couple of news stories today. Be assured, I’m good. I wasn’t, but I am now.”
Rylan and police officer Dan, who appeared on Big Brother, began dating in 2013 and became engaged in 2014.
They got married twelve months ago but in June this year Rylan said: “Following reports about Dan and I spending time apart, I feel I have to speak out – as the way it is being reported is unfair.
“I have made a number of mistakes which I deeply regret and have inevitably led to the breakdown of our marriage.”
Following his latest statement, one of Rylan’s followers said: “Aww Rylan I feel for you, it’s awful going through something like this but to have to do it in public eye must be extra hard.
“Chin up, it will get easier eventually. I don’t know you but from what I see of you I think you’re great. Take care x”
Another added: “It’s always OK not to be OK. Pleased you’re all good now. Being in the public eye must make things so much harder when things get tough.
“But know you being in the public eye brings much joy to many people.”
