Rylan Clark-Neal got the surprise of a lifetime during his 24-hour karaoke stint when Craig David popped round for a duet.

The Strictly Come Dancing: It Takes Two host was nearing the finish line of his incredible challenge for Children In Need on Wednesday morning, when he was tasked with singing along to Craig’s iconic hit Fill Me In.

But little did Rylan know, the real Craig David was waiting in the wings of BBC Radio 2’s studios to surprise him.

Halfway through the track, Zoe Ball introduced the legendary popstar much to Rylan’s shock leaving him almost speechless.

‘Oh my God. This is unbelievable, I can’t believe it,’ he exclaimed clearly excited yet exhausted after doing the gruelling singing challenge for almost a day.

He added: ‘This is not actually happening,’ before he and Craig launched into an iconic duet of Fill Me In.

‘What a treat,’ he admitted after the performance before Craig praised the presenter as a ‘top, top boy’ for his generous charitable efforts.

Rylan then revealed: ‘Craig knows how much of a fan I am and I’ve met him before but to do that, I’m actually on cloud nine right now.’

Listeners absolutely loved the duet, with one commenting: ‘Been watching since 6am. What an effort. Loved Fill Me In – and the face when Craig David walked in. Priceless! Congratulation [sic].’

It persuaded one listener to donate as they revealed: ‘Rylan and Craig David, OMG, Rylan completely blown away.. keep going Rylan you’re doing great. Donation done.’

Another said: ‘Amazing have just donated £30 on Children in Need website. Icing on the cake listening to Craig David.’

One other weighed in: ‘@Rylan fantastic Craig david duo, you’re a star – donated, you nailed it.’

That wasn’t the last of the treats as Rylan was also surprised by former Saturdays singer Frankie Bridge for a romantic duet of Nancy Sinatra’s classic Somethin’ Stupid.

Rylan’s efforts aren’t in vain as show host Zoe revealed the TV star has raised an incredible £600,700.44 so far from the Great Ka-RY-oke Challenge. He’s performed more than 270 songs during the 24 hours.

Yesterday, the former Big Brother: Bit On The Side host sang and danced the night away to Bon Jovi’s Livin’ On A Prayer, Laura Branigan’s Gloria and much more.

Rylan’s Ka-RY-oke can be watched on the BBC Red Button service on TV, BBC iPlayer, BBC Radio 2 and on BBC Sounds.
