Strictly Come Dancing season is upon us, and the excitement, glitter and glamour is in the air for sure.
Two people who can’t wait for the new series are Rylan Clark-Neal and Zoe Ball, as they are both hosting the new It Takes Two.
Rylan has revealed that he was worried he was taking Zoe Ball’s job when he was told about his new It Takes Two role.
The show is set to stun fans with even more exclusive access and backstage gossip than ever before.
For the first time ever, Rylan Clark-Neal will be presenting the show on Mondays and Tuesdays while radio royalty Zoe Ball will be returning to host on Wednesdays and Thursdays.
Rylan, who shot to fame on the X Factor back in 2012, is a huge Strictly Come Dancing fan, so this new role is right up his street.
The Supermarket Sweep host gushed: “I’m such a massive fan of Strictly, so I was overwhelmed when I got asked to be a host on It Takes Two.
“Originally I thought they were asking me to be a contestant.”
Rylan then explained that he was worried he was stealing Zoe Balls job.
He admitted: “When they said it was [a] presenting [role] I had to ring Zoe to make sure I wasn’t taking her job.”
But luckily, Zoe was just taking more of a back seat this time round, and she told Rylan she wanted him to do it.
Rylan continued: “I’ve watched Strictly every single year… When my telly mum Ruth [Langsford] was on the show, I came down to support her.
“Strictly is a machine, it’s a beast. It’s the biggest show on television, I was thrilled I was allowed to come to watch the show, let alone work on it.
“It’s a massive honour.”
Zoe Ball admitted that she once fan-girled over her new co-host Rylan in a lift.
She revealed: “I just love him. You just know he’s a great guy, but also a complete scream.
“And the great thing is Rylan’s so tall that I can wear a nice heel. Maybe I’ll have to get my teeth whitened so I can work alongside him.”
Zoe Ball has been presenting It Takes Two since 2011, when she took over Claudia Winkleman, who now presents the main Strictly Come Dancing show with Tess Daly.
She confirmed that she can’t wait to get started with the new series: “It comes around so quickly. It’s like going back to school, returning to our mad little family.”
Ian Waite will also return each week with “Waite’s Warm-up” to analyse the couples in the training rooms, while Strictly favourite Gethin Jones will also return to the show,
