Ryan Reynolds is up to his usual tricks of trolling his A-lister buddies.

He’s the king of bants and has now taken aim at Joaquin Phoenix after the star’s latest movie Joker smashed Deadpool’s records.

Yes, the DC movie beat the Marvel hit in becoming the highest-grossing R-rated film of all time.

And while Ryan tried to congratulate his superhero pal, he just ended up insulting the 44-year-old with one heck of a hilarious backhanded compliment.

Sharing a picture of the movie’s poster, the father-of-two has made sure to edit the words ‘you mother f**ker’ right over Joaquin – who was all done up in his Joker garb.

On a set of stairs, Ryan then credited a number of other films that had also grossed particularly high.

This included his best bud Hugh Jackman – who he currently has an ongoing troll war with.

Yes, Joaquin, don’t worry – it’s not just you.

The most recent installment of the pair’s faux feud was on the Logan star’s 51st birthday earlier this month.

Taking to Instagram, Ryan wished the actor all the best on his big day with a very NSFW message.

‘I was just going to wish you happy birthday, then I saw what you said…ah, in a word, hurtful,’ he said in a short video.

The star added: ‘Yeah. Ah, enjoy the show, Hugh Jackman.’

It’s not all that clear what Hugh had done, however, the two have been going back and forth with hurtful barbs for months and months.

He then launched himself into a stirring rendition of happy birthday, that, frankly, is worthy of being on Broadway.

Which is exactly what Ryan thought, as he ended the sweet message by turning it brilliantly venomous.

‘And I’m not even f**king professionally-trained, Jackman, you piece of s**t mother**ker,’ Ryan yelled at the camera, as he flipped Hugh the bird.
