Ryan Reynolds has shared an important message to ask his young fans not to party amid the coronavirus pandemic, but of course he delivered it in his own unique way.

He shared a message to the young people of Canada, urging them to avoid gatherings, after British Columbia’s Premier John Horgan shared in a recent press conference that he was trying to get through them.

John Horgan joked: ‘This is a call out to Deadpool right now. Ryan, we need your help up here. Get in touch with us.’

And Ryan, 43, who plays Deadpool, did just that, sharing a voice note on Twitter along with the caption: ‘Called your office. Left a message.’

Hey Premier Horgan, Ryan Reynolds here. Got your message about the thing… I’m not sure it’s a great idea, frankly. I don’t think they want medical advice from guys like me, no sir.

‘Unless it’s plastic surgery, which — a lot of people don’t know this — but I used to be Hugh Jackman.  Hugh Jackman.

“Young folks in B.C., they’re partying, which is of course dangerous. And they probably don’t know that thousands of young people aren’t just getting sick from coronavirus, they’re also dying from it too.

‘And of course it’s terrible that it affects our most vulnerable. B.C., that’s home to some of the coolest older people on Earth, I mean David Suzuki, he lives there.’

Ryan added: ‘My mum, she doesn’t want to be cooped up in her apartment all day. She wants to be out there cruising Kitsilano Beach looking for some young 30-something Abercrombie burnout to go full Mrs. Robinson on. She is insatiable.

‘But here’s the thing, I hope young people in B.C. don’t kill my mum, frankly. Or David Suzuki. Or each other.

‘Let’s not kill anyone. I think that’s reasonable. But I don’t think I’m the guy to deliver this message, I love parties!

‘My favourtie thing to do is sit alone in my room with a glass of gin and the first 32 seasons of Gossip Girl. That’s a party. Threw my shoulder out the last time I did that.’

The coronavirus pandemic is still ongoing around the world, but British Columbia saw a spike of Covid-19 cases among 20-39-year-olds in the past week.
