Ryan Reynolds may have quite a big responsibility on his hands with fans pleading for the Deadpool actor to save Spider-Man from leaving the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Marvel fans are reeling from the reports that studio boss Kevin Feige and Disney struggled to agree terms with Sony Pictures about Spider-Man’s future in the MCU.

It’s sparked outrage, petitions, boycott threats and, now, fans pleading with Ryan’s character Deadpool to swoop in and save the day.

When a fan suggested: ‘Can we get a Spiderman & Deadpool movie now,’ Ryan replied in good humour: ‘You can. But you can only see it in my heart.’

Oh, you try and stop ‘em Ry.

Ryan’s jokes didn’t stop there as he had earlier made light of the reports that Robert De Niro’s production company is suing an employee for binge-watching an ‘astounding’ amount of hours of hit sitcom Friends while on the job.

The 42-year-old quipped: ‘I’ve said it before. It’s a really great show.’

But back to Spidey…

Deadline reported on Monday that Sony and Disney were unable to come to an agreement over money, meaning Spider-Man might not be seen on-screen for a while.

The publication states Disney asked that any future films starring the superhero – currently played by Tom Holland – be a ‘50/50 co-financing arrangement’, something Sony refused to consider.

It’s cast doubt over whether Tom Holland, who plays Peter Parker, still has a job in the Marvel family.

Jeremy Renner has also weighed into the situation and has called for Spider-Man to return to our screens and also the comic books created by the late Stan Lee.

The Hawkeye actor tweeted: ‘Hey @sonypictures we want Spider-Man back to @therealstanlee and @marvel please, thank you #congrats #spidermanrocks #please.’

Sounds like Spidey’s got a lot of his pals in his corner.
