They’re leaders in the comedic field as top actors in the entertainment industry.

But Ryan Reynolds and Will Ferrell will have to put their singing chops to good use as they star in a musical adaptation of A Christmas Carol.

The actors are reportedly in ‘final negotiations’ with the Apple+ network to recreate the classic tale,’ according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Ferrell’s writing team from the Daddy’s Home comedies, Sean Anders and John Morris, will also join him to write the movie.

Ferrell’s Gloria Sanchez label will produce with Jessica Elbaum alongside Reynolds’ Maximum Effort group with George Dewey. 

Apple reportedly ‘moved aggressively’ to secure the rights to the film ‘as it seeks to make an impact in the original features space. 

The classic Dickens’ tale tells the story of curmudgeon Ebenezer Scrooge, who is visited by ghosts of Christmas past, present and future.
