RYAN McCartan is now calling his past relationship to Disney actress Dove Cameron “dysfunctional” after he accused her of cheating.
The actor took to Instagram to explain why he said his ex-fiance had cheated on him three years after breaking off their engagement.
On Thursday, Ryan was on Instagram stories talking to his followers when one of them asked what his proudest moment was.
He responded by implying that Dove had cheated on him and said: “Within two weeks, my fiancée cheated on and left me, I almost died from food poisoning, and Donald Trump was elected president.
I truly didn’t think I would be able to make it through that part of my life.”
He continued: “I’m proudest of the light that came from the darkness and my ability to survive and turn the anger and sadness I had into positive life changes and a new way forward.”

He then went on Instagram on Friday to clarify his comment about the 24-year-old actress.
He wrote: “I am no longer comfortable watching the events of my life become so darkly misconstrued. I would like to fairly and diplomatically write about this once and finally.
“I think Dove and I fundamentally agree about our relationship with one another. We were young, and immature. Our relationship was dysfunctional. We were a bad match.”
He continued: “She has made claims about me and about our past that I don’t think are fair or even true, but she is entitled to her opinion.
I have made claims about her and our past that I’m sure she doesn’t think are fair or true, but I am entitled to my opinion.
We have individual and conflicting perspectives on the dysfunction of our relationship. That is very normal amongst exes.”

After their breakup, Dove hinted that she wasn’t happy in her relationship with Ryan and that he didn’t treat her well, as she claimed in response to a fan’s comments on her Instagram.
She wrote: “[Ryan] was terrible to me.”
It was also reported that her friends didn’t quite like him.
Ryan continued his post and said: “We are not at war with one another.”
He then accused the media of making up facts about their relationship.

Dove has yet to respond to his accusations directly, but she did post a cryptic message where she called someone in her past “toxic.”
She shared a picture on her Twitter which read: “When a toxic person can no longer control you, they will try to control how others see you.
“The misinformation will feel unfair, but stay above it, trusting that other people will eventually see the truth just like you did.”

Dove and Ryan met when they were filming the Disney show Liv and Maddie.
They met in 2012 and went public with their relationship the following year.
They quickly got engaged in 2016 when Ryan was 24 and Dove was 22.
However, six months later, Dove broke off their engagement and Ryan claimed that “she decided the relationship wasn’t what she wanted.”
