This Morning hosts Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes were forced to explain why they weren’t social distancing on the show today as fans rushed to complain about the pair sitting so close together.
The pair explained to viewers that because they are married and live in the same house, they don’t need to sit two metres apart and following the social distancing rules to help stop the spread of coronavirus.
Eamonn told them: “This is our version of self-isolating.”
Ruth replied: “Yes for those of you who don’t know, we live together so don’t panic.”
Eamonn added: “Yes don’t worry because we are intimate.”
Ruth giggled: “Well occasionally.”
Some fans were left furious as they demanded the pair should sit further apart “to set a good example to viewers”.
