RuPaul’s Drag Race UK star Joe Black has addressed whether she’d ever consider returning to the show in future… and it appears the drag queen is definitely not ruling it out.

On Thursday evening, Joe became the first contestant on the second season of Drag Race UK to be eliminated from the competition after lip syncing for her life against Bimini Bon Boulash.

Numerous Drag Race fans were left absolutely stupefied by her early departure, having been stunned by her sartorial tributes to David Bowie and Brighton Pavilion on the catwalk.

While speaking to Metro.co.uk and other press outlets after the launch episode aired, Joe pondered whether she’d up for a surprise comeback on the show in future.

After all, queens have returned to the competition in the past, such as Shangela and Vanjie in season three and season 11 of Drag Race in the US respectively.

‘I think I need to catch up on my sleep first,’ Joe said when pondering the prospect.

‘All of these costumes that have gone unworn because no one could have seen them yet, I’ll brush the dust off of them a little bit.

‘But you know when that call comes – when or if that call comes – I don’t know. We’ll see what my answer is.’

While at this point in time, Joe couldn’t say for certain what her answer would be if she was asked to return to Drag Race, she admitted that would probably lean towards accepting the offer if it put forward.

‘As much as you might go, “Ooh, would I do it again, would I do it again, would I do it again”, if I was looking at my phone and it said “Drag Race”, I think everyone would say yes.’

So there you go Drag Race UK – a likely willing contender for season three!

While looking back on her experience in the first episode of Drag Race UK’s second season, Joe recalled an exchange she shared with special guest judge Elizabeth Hurley that didn’t make it to air.

When it was Elizabeth’s turn to critique Joe’s ensembles, she had written just one word down: ‘Scary.’

‘I really wish that had made the cut because I was like I wanted posters in giant letters: “Scary. Elizabeth Hurley”,’ Joe said. If only!

Following the judges’ harsh feedback for her Brighton Pavilion-inspired gold gown – one of the predominant comments being that the building’s exterior is white – Joe shared a photograph on Twitter of the interior in all its golden glory.

‘Isn’t Brighton pavilion beautiful on the inside? Lovely and gold,’ she wrote.

While Joe is no longer in the competition, she will be sharing pictures every week of the outfits she would have worn, photographed against a variety of stunning backdrops.

We can’t wait to see what the cabaret star has in store.

RuPaul’s Drag Race UK returns next Thursday at 7pm on BBC Three via BBC iPlayer.
