The queens from RuPaul’s Drag Race UK descended upon Manchester Pride for their first public outing together.

The first ever UK edition of the reality series is set to kick off on 3 October, which sees ten queens competing for the title of the UK’s Drag Race Superstar.

After the line-up was revealed earlier this week, the ten contestants were flying the Drag Race flag for Manchester Pride on Saturday (24 August).

The queens took to the Manchester streets on the back of a RuPaul’s Drag Race float, followed by a pair of blow-up legs so they can properly sissy that walk.

Names on the bill include Baga Chipz, Blu Hydrangea, Crystal, Cheryl Hole, Divina De Camp, Gothy Kendoll, Sum Ting Wong, Scaredy Kat, The Vivienne, and Vinegar Strokes.

Speaking about the series, RuPaul said: ‘Each of the UK queens is so unique, so courageous and so special. I can’t wait for the UK – and the world – to fall in love with them the same way I did.’

RuPaul will be joined by Michelle Visage, Alan Carr, and Graham Norton on judging duties, while celebrity guest judges include Andrew Garfield, Maisie Williams, Twiggy, and Cheryl.

If you’re unfamiliar, RuPaul’s Drag Race has spanned eleven seasons in the US, picking up numerous awards including the Emmy for Outstanding Reality-Competition Program in 2008.

The show has made stars of many contestants too, including comedian Bianca Del Rio and Shangela who recently appeared in A Star Is Born.

RuPaul’s Drag Race UK starts 3 October on BBC Three, with episodes releasing Thursdays on BBC iPlayer.
