Royal travel: The surprising way Harry & Meghan once travelled on New Years holiday

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle often spend New Year’s Eve in a far-flung location. Last year the pair jetted off to Monaco, meanwhile this year they are anticipated to be in Canada. However, despite opulent celebrations, the pair were spotted sneaking on board a commercial aeroplane last year. Will they be travelling commercially this year too?

The pair received negative backlash after they took four private jets in just 11 days on a private holiday.

Following the outcry, Buckingham Palace also put out a job advertisement for a new job role which would focus on reducing costs and improving efficiency.

The job posting released outlined the specifications for a Director of Royal Travel who would be in charge of purchasing “safe, efficient, cost-effective and appropriate travel services for the official duties of Member of the Royal Family and their Households.”

She said: “Harry and Meghan are two of the most famous people in the world. They went to Norway in the early stages of their relationship.

“It was Norwegian Air.

“No one on that plane knew that Harry and Meghan were on because the whole plane had boarded, they were driven to the back steps, they walked up, they had baseball caps on, snuck into the back seats of the aircraft.”

“No one even knew they were there.”
