Roy Keane blasted goalkeepers David de Gea and Jordan Pickford after both made mistakes during the Premier League clash between Manchester United and Everton.

The Toffees were gifted an early lead at Goodison Park on Sunday after De Gea hesitated on the ball and saw his clearance hit Dominic Calvert-Lewin and fly into the net.

Manchester United January signing Bruno Fernandes equalised midway through the first half with a long-range effort that dipped under the gloves of England international Pickford.

Speaking at half-time, a fuming Keane told Sky Sports: ‘Whether I was another player or the manager, I would have killed him [De Gea]. It’s crazy.

‘Trying to be too clever… he takes too long. What is he waiting for? You need to be quicker. These are huge moments with Manchester United trying to get into the top-four.

‘He’s an experienced goalkeeper, what is he waiting for? It’s arrogance. I would have lynched him at half-time.

‘There’s no excuse for that. This is an experienced, international goalkeeper. It’s madness.’

On Pickford, the former Manchester United captain added: ‘I know he’s not a good goalkeeper. He’s not up to it. He’s not a good goalkeeper.’

Asked what response he expects from De Gea, Keane replied: ‘Sometimes a player doesn’t have anywhere to go, you just have to accept it. Obviously he’s an experienced player.

‘Ole has a different personality to me and I was talking about the players’ point of view as well. You’d be having a go at him, cut that nonsense out, get the ball forward.

‘There’s huge things at stake for an experienced international player. I think he would hold his hands up.’

Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher also slammed De Gea after his blunder at Goodison Park, telling Sky Sports: ‘He’s had a nightmare.

‘He’s looking for a pass, he waits far too long. You see him there, looking for that pass. It’s a gift for Calvert-Lewin.’
