Ronda Rousey confirms WWE comeback after eight months away from the ring

Ronda Rousey has confirmed she will make her WWE comeback – but said she won’t let it get in the way of her plans to start a family.

Former UFC champion Rousey hasn’t been in the ring since losing her Raw Women’s Championship title at Wrestlemania 35 in April.

Last month she appeared to hint that her WWE career was over , having previously said she wanted to take a step back from the sport and create a family with husband Travis Browne.

Rousey is yet to become a mum, but has now said she wants to return to WWE and combine wrestling with her plans for a family.

“I think I need to figure out a different way of doing it,” she told People .

“To be able to not have to choose career over family or family over career and kind of find that happy medium.

“Right now, I think my family needs my undivided attention. I’m happy to give them that.

“But I’m trying to figure out a way or a system or somehow that I could give both my family and WWE the best of me and not be half-ass in both.”

Rousey’s absence still leaves a packed women’s WWE roster, featuring stars like Charlotte Flair, Sasha Banks, Bayley, Alexa Bliss, and Becky Lynch.

And Rousey said: “The girls are doing amazing right now.

“I really don’t think that I’m that necessary in what’s going on.

“I think they’re crushing it and I really did want to bring a spotlight to what they’re doing and let them stand in it, and I think it’s kind of better – they’re better off with me taking a step away right now, and kind of finding their stride without me.”
