Ronaldo trains with son at home as star quarantines before Juventus return

Cristiano Ronaldo has found a way to stay entertained during his two-week spell of quarantine in Italy – by training with son Cristiano Jr in their back garden at home.

The Juventus forward is currently having to stay for a 14-day spell after jetting back into Italy from the Portuguese island of Madeira, where he had been previously hunkering down during the coronavirus lockdown.

While many of the Serie A giants’ players are gearing up for a return to training on May 18, the Portugal international will have to wait a little while before seeing his team-mates.

In a bid to remain at the top of his game, the former Real Madrid star appears to be working on some of the game’s fundamentals while quarantining at home.

And it also seems that Ronaldo is keen for his oldest son to follow in his footsteps with Cristiano Jr taking part in the same drills as his famous father.

The 35-year-old shared the footage with his 218m followers on his Instagram account on Wednesday evening with the caption: “Like father like son. Happiness above all.”

The clip certainly warmed hearts online, with the likes of UFC star Jose Aldo and journalist Piers Morgan among those to reply to the video in a positive manner.

Like Ronaldo Sr, Cristiano Jr is also part of the set-up at Juventus and impressed last season for the Italian titans’ under-nines with an incredible 58 goals in just 28 games.

The 35-year-old, meanwhile, will be hoping he too can soon find the net again as Italy prepares for the return of Serie A following the coronavirus lockdown.

Teams have been told they can train again from May 18 with a view to matches in the top flight restarting at the beginning of next month before finishing the campaign in August.
