He said in March: “I’m terminating my contract, but right now it’s not the most important thing, nor have I stopped to think about it.”

Pedro has played just 18 times this season – with only nine of those in the Premier League – and scored twice.

Willian, Christian Pulisic and Callum Hudson-Odoi are all ahead of him in the pecking order under Frank Lampard when fit and available, with Ajax star Hakim Ziyech joining next season.

And with a sudden extension from Chelsea not set to come, the Spaniard looks set to become a free agent for clubs to snap up.

Now according to the Mirror, Roma have made their move.

The report states that the Serie A club made their approach with a £2.7million-a-year offer, equating to just over £50,000 per week, plus bonuses.

However, Roma are understood to face competition for the former Spain international.

There is interest in the winger from the MLS with a number of clubs thought to be considering offering him a swansong in North America.

Fenerbahce were also tipped to try and make a move earlier in the season.

Barcelona have also been linked with a move for their former player.

Pedro joined the Barca academy aged 17 and went on to play 321 matches for the first team, scoring 99 goals, before signing at Chelsea in 2015.

He won a staggering 16 major honours at the Nou Camp, including three Champions Leagues, and has added a further three trophies in West London.

The Spaniard won the Premier League in 2016/17, the FA Cup the following season and then the Europa League last year.

Meanwhile, on the international stage, Pedro has also won both the World Cup and European Championships.

He found the net 17 times in his 65 caps for the Spanish national team, with his last appearance coming in 2017.
