Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger given all-clear after major heart operation

The Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger was recently forced to postpone his upcoming US and Canada tour dates after he was given doctors orders to rest.

Back at the beginning of April, the musical legend underwent heart valve replacement surgery at New York’s Presbyterian Hospital.

Now it is reported that the 75-year-old has been cleared with a full bill of health.

His daughter Jade shared a photo of him cuddling up to Georgia May during a family day out on Friday, looking healthier than ever.

Revealing that Jagger had been given the all-clear by doctors, a music source told The Sun Online: “Mick is delighted to be back to full health and feels 100 per cent after his op. He is his normal chipper and positive self.

“Doctors are really pleased with his progress and were happy to give him a clean bill of health.”

Talking about the success of his recovery, the insider shared: “His healthy eating has really helped with his recovery, he’s been taking it easy and resting.

“The health scare has just reminded him to keep taking care of himself.”

Keeping their fans up-to-date of what is happening, the band took to the official Rolling Stones Twitter page to announce the re-scheduling with their 3.3m devotees.

Tweeting out today, they explained: “Thank you for all your patience and support regarding the re-scheduling of The Rolling Stones US and Canada tour dates. We will have an update and an announcement in the coming days for you, please stay tuned.”

The band originally cancelled 17 gigs after doctors found “something untoward” during a routine scan.
