Penny, who shares two sons with Rod, 75 – Alastair, 14, and Aiden, nine, recently spoke out about her menopause experience on television.
She told Andi Peters, who was standing in for ITV host Lorraine Kelly on her self-titled breakfast show, that she originally thought she had COVID-19 as she had a “soaring” temperature.
“I’m actually coping alright, talking to a doctor to understand it,” Penny said to the host, when asked how she was dealing with it.
“The more we talk about it the easier it is to understand the problems that come along with it,” she added.
