Celtic super fan Sir Rod Stewart has urged Eddie Howe to ‘make up his mind’ over becoming the club’s new manager.

The former Bournemouth manager is the current favourite to replace Neil Lennon as Bhoys boss but Howe wants more time to look at his options before responding to the club’s offer.

Celtic would rather make a quick-fire appointment so that the club can effectively plan for next season, when they’ll be desperate to wrestle the title back from rivals Rangers.

Howe reportedly wants to wait until the end of the season to consider what other opportunities could come his way but Stewart, who is a regular visitor at Parkhead, has urged the Englishman to make a decision now.

Stewart posted a sign reading: ‘Come on Eddie…make up your mind’.

The post on his Twitter page was accompanied with the hashtag of ‘UpTheHoops’.

Celtic are waiting on Howe’s decision but speculation is rife that Newcastle and Crystal Palace are interested in the former Cherries boss.

Former Celtic man Frank McAvennie believes the Bhoys should call off their interest in Howe as he’s shown them disrespect.

‘If it’s true that he’s going to go and speak to Crystal Palace and Newcastle, then I would say no,’ said McAvennie.

I don’t know if I would want him because it means his heart isn’t in it.

‘Down south people don’t realise how big Celtic and Rangers are. They are huge clubs.

‘I lived in England a long time and they don’t realise it until they come up and step through the door.’
