Rod Stewart, 75, who has eight children by five different mothers, has been married to Penny Lancaster since 2007. The Loose Women star opened up about the moment the Maggie May singer thought he’d “lost his wife” when she appeared on Strictly Come Dancing.
Penny took part in the BBC show in 2007 and chatted with her former professional dance partner Ian Waite on Instagram today.
Speaking about the moment she signed up for the series, Penny revealed that Rod quizzed her on who she would be dancing with.
She began: “The funniest thing is my husband said, ‘It’s fantastic you’re doing Strictly. Live your wildest dreams and go for it girl.’
“But then he was like, ‘Who are you dancing with?'”

Penny took part in the fifth series of Strictly back in 2007 alongside her dance partner Ian.
The small-screen star made it to week six of the competition before being voted out of the show.
The rock legend and his wife Penny share two sons together, Alastair, 14 and nine-year-old Aiden.
Rod also has a daughter, Sarah, 56, from a teenage relationship, Kimberly, 40, and Sean, 39, from his marriage to Alana Stewart; and Ruby, 32, from his relationship with Kelly Emberg.
He also has daughter Renee, 27, and son Liam, 25, with second wife Rachel Hunter.
Meanwhile, Rod recently gushed that his wife Penny is “everything to him,” as he reflected on their relationship.
Of their two decades of wedded bliss, he said: “I’m stunned that Penny has kept me around for 20 years.
“They have not invented the words for how I feel about her. She is everything.”
Penny and Rod tied the knot in an intimate ceremony at the medieval monastery La Cervara in Portofino in 2007.
When asked about her relationship with Rod’s exes, Penny explained: “When I met Rod, I realised it wasn’t just us, it was the children, the ex-wives. I had to show that I was genuine, show kindness, and it works.”
Rod’s first wife was actress Alana, 74, who he was married to from 1979 to 1984.
He later tied the knot with model Rachel, 50, in 1990 but the couple divorced after 16 years of marriage.
