ROCKSTAR Energy Named Official Energy Drink Partner of mousesports

Today, In an announcement on its website, German esports organization mousesports announced that it has entered into a sponsorship deal with ROCKSTAR Energy. The deal extends through 2020 and will see logo placement on jerseys.

According to the release, the ROCKSTAR Energy logo will be featured in a prominent place on mousesports player jerseys. 

This is the first major esports team partnership for ROCKSTAR Energy (it has partnered with minor teams in the past). ROCKSTAR Energy is mostly known for its support of music festivals and X Games-style extreme sporting events.

“We are absolutely thrilled to start the new year with such great news as of our partnership,” Carl Windfuhr, commercial director beverages PepsiCo, said. “Obviously, with mousesports we have won a strong and well-known partner in this game. We are excited to break into the esports scene and to take mousesports to the next level.“

ROCKSTAR Energy is a privately-held company founded in 2001 by Russ Weiner. In 2009 the company signed a long-term distribution deal with PepsiCo, ending a long-standing partnership deal with Coca-Cola.

ROCKSTAR Energy joins mousesports’ other partners that include Vodafone, Snipes, and Razer.   The German esports organization fields teams in Rocket League, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, StarCraft II, and an assortment of other competitive games.
