Rocketman: Elton John classic Your Song by Sasha Siem using controversial 'love frequency'

What on Earth is the “love frequency”? Have naughty musicians been seducing us with some sexy trickery on their records? Take one of the most respected artists in modern classical music, one of the most iconic songs of all time, and a controversial recording technique… and you have a sublime record that might just lull you into another world. With the world going crazy for Taron Egerton’s incredible turn as Elton John in Rocketman, are you ready for another take on our greatest showman? Scroll down and watch the video.

Taken from her forthcoming album Holy released in October, not only is Sasha Siem’s cover of Sir Elton John’s Your Song simply beautiful – a stripped-back version that reveals soaring, haunting vocals – but it was recorded in the Love Frequency.

Coined by Dr Leonard Horowitz, the Love Frequency – or 432Hz, as opposed to the usual 440Hz – is thought to be the frequency central to the inner workings of the universe, and has been used by healers, faith leaders and gurus throughout time because of its alleged restorative properties.

Sasha says; “It’s so exciting to be creating pop music that also has the added value of having healing frequencies, contributing to people’s energetic wellbeing.

Sasha adds: “The Love Frequency helps us to raise out of lower vibrations (sadness, anger, jealousy, stress) and into bliss, joy, and love. These states often initiate a self-empowering cycle – the more love we have the more we create love, and vice versa!

“I sat at the piano after breakfast a few weeks ago and this version of Sir Elton’s song came out almost fully formed within a few minutes.

“I’ve loved Sir Elton’s music since watching the Lion King as a young girl. I didn’t have money then to buy his records so I would play the radio at home and wait for his songs to come on so that I could tape them!”

“I’d always admired how direct and colloquial Your Song is. And yet, while singing it, I began to hear it from a very different perspective. I found myself awakened to depths of meaning that I had not perceived before.”

Listen to Sasha Siem’s Your Song and – who knows? – you might just end up scientifically more beautiful, inside and out.

Your Song by Sasha Siem is out now. The album Holy is out in October.
