IT has been a karaoke classic for almost 40 years but Cone On Eileen is about to get a big boost with a new version.
I can reveal Robbie Williams has recorded a new tune, which uses large sections of the party classic, including the iconic sing-along chorus.
But I’m yet to find out what Dexys Midnight Runners, who went to No1 with the hit in the UK and US in 1982, think of it.
Name-checking the single in the first verse before going into the original chorus, Robbie sings: “She takes her money and drinks it on a Saturday, her and her friends just p**sing the night away.
“Her mother says she’s always been a disappointment, another night another casual arrangement . . . We take off our clothes.
“But she’s the best I’ve seen at singing Come On Eileen.”
He sang the as yet untitled song during an Instagram Live broadcast late on Tuesday night.
He said: “I am going to sing you a song now that I probably shouldn’t sing you.
“I did it the other day and I had so much fun doing it.
“It’s one of mine and it’s unreleased. But it’s a song that you can get on board with because I think you might know a little bit of it already.” It’s the first new music from Robbie since his No1 album The Christmas Present last year.
Come On Eileen was last reworked in 2004 as Come On England by the band 4-4-2 to support England’s football team at the European Championships. It reached No2 in the charts.
We all need some fun in our lives right now, so here’s hoping Robbie can go one better with his version.

Gwyneth: Day I got the chop
GWYNETH Paltrow has revealed she got axed from her first job in a toy shop.
The actress admitted: “I went on spring break, but I didn’t tell my boss. I just didn’t show up. I was devastated, but it was a good lesson.”
Luckily Gwyneth – here on the latest edition of Town & Country magazine – took to acting then opened her wacky wellness business Goop. It was mocked but is now worth £200million.
Gwyneth definitely got the last laugh with that.

Jade’s hot on trans track
JADE Thirlwall has written an anthem for the transgender community on Little Mix’s upcoming sixth album.
The singer penned the track with one of the group’s chief songwriters, rising star Camille Purcell, who’s created some of their biggest hits including Black Magic and Shout Out To My Ex.
Jade said: “We wrote a song that me and Camille thought would be a great trans awareness song. We haven’t recorded it yet but I’m on the case.”
During an interview on Gaydio, Jade added: “It’s so important. We are always trying to raise awareness.
“I think we have a duty to really, we’ve got such a massive LGBT fan base and I want to make sure that we practise what we preach and we are walking the walk instead of talking the talk.”

BRUCE Willis’ hairstyle is catching on, with one of his daughters at least.
The Die Hard actor shared a video online of him shaving off Tallulah’s hair, with help from her sister Rumer.
She tells her sibling: “You look like Joan of Arc, dude.”
Tallulah’s style was reminiscent of mum Demi Moore, who had a similar buzzcut in 1997 movie G.I. Jane.
Bruce is self-isolating with his ex and their daughters in the US.
