Robbie Williams fuels age-old Liam Gallagher feud branding him a 'D***HEAD' in shock swipe

Robbie Williams and Liam Gallagher have seen no love lost between them in the past couple of decades after their friendship fell apart in the ’90s. Now, in an interview with The Sun, the ex-Take That singer has stoked the flames of their contentious relationship once more. “The thing about Liam is he’s incredible,” he told the publication. “He’s an incredible singer — proper rock ’n’ roller.

“The world’s a better place for him being in it. He’s iconic.

“Sometimes you have to separate the art from the d***head,” he added. “And I can do that.”

Liam has yet to respond to Robbie’s latest jibe but his outspoken history would indicate he’s likely to hit back at some point soon.

The ex-Oasis rocker has been locked in a bitter feud with Robbie since the days of Britpop, though they started out as friends.

After the pop star sensationally quit Take That, he befriended Liam and his brother Noel Gallagher.

But the bromance was brought to an abrupt end when Noel called Robbie, who was engaged to Nicole Appleton at the time, the “fat dancer from Take That”.

Nicole would go on to marry (and then divorce) Liam, but the scene had been set for one of the longest-running feuds in pop/rock history.

After Oasis made history by selling out two nights at Knebworth in the mid-90s, Robbie is said to have decided to one-up them, selling out three in a row.

“A hundred grand of your money, a hundred grand of my money,” he announced on stage. “We’ll get in the ring and we’ll have a fight.”

Then, in 2013, Liam branded his rival a “fat f***ing idiot” during a gig.

Hitting back after the former Take That star mocked his songs for not having choruses, he said: “They do, fatty. And they’re good and they’re better than yours.

“Don’t write choruses, fat boy, Yeah, his verses are s***t and all.”

Last year, the Let Me Entertain You hitmaker brought up the proposition once again, telling The Sun he wanted to fight the “school bully” Liam.

He also conceded admiration for the Oasis icon, saying: “I admire him. He is the voice of a generation, the last of a dying breed, as popstars are so boring these days.”

But the idea of a fight was soon quashed by his wife Ayda Field.

“You’re 45, man, she said on their joint podcast. “You’re going to go in a ring and smack each other? That’s just lame.”
