Riverdale season 4 spoilers: Who attacked Dodger?

There has been plenty of drama and plot twists for fans to get their teeth stuck into The CW show. One of the ongoing stories follows redhead heartthrob Archie Andrews (played by KJ Apa) who has been fighting off gang leader Dodger (Juan Riedinger) from recruiting young vulnerable teenagers. But what everyone wants to know now is who is behind Dodger’s brutal attack?

Who attacked Dodger in Riverdale season 4?

Ever since Dodger arrived in Riverdale, he has caused nothing but trouble for Archie who is desperately trying to live up to his dad’s (Luke Perry) good memory by opening a community centre for teens who need help getting off the streets.

The crime boss, however, has continued to threaten his way to getting many of the teens to join his gang and sell drugs on his behalf.

This recently led to the return of vigilante Archie, doing all he can to fight crime and drive Dodger out of Riverdale.

Fans of the show will remember when Archie set up the Red Circle in season two which, by the end of the season, disbanded.

But in episode six of the latest season, Dodger finds out what Archie has been up to.

In response to discovering the teen had been the one behind all of his recent criminal exploits going wrong, Dodger drives by Archie’s house, shooting at the living room’s window, much to his and Mary Andrews’ (Molly Ringwold) shock.

Thankfully, neither of them were hurt as they managed to duck out of the way in time but it showed Archie just how dangerous he could be.

So, in an attempt to get Dodger out of Riverdale, Archie knew he needed to ask for help.

But it was who he asked for help which surprised viewers.

Despite their pure hatred for one another, Archie approached Hiram, asking for his assistance in getting Dodger to leave Riverdale.

He may have tried to kill the redhead on a number of occasions and has made his daughter and Archie’s girlfriend Veronica’s (Camila Mendes) life a living nightmare, but Hiram doesn’t seem to be completely against the teen anymore.

Hiram appears to offer an olive branch when he gives a blank cheque to Archie to help him out with the gym.

This, paired with the fact there’s been no hints of any underlying plots to kill Archie, could mean they now have an unofficial truce.

Hiram does, however, refuse to help Archie with his Dodger problem when he’s asked.

But not long after their conversation, Dodger is found in an alley on death’s door wrapped in a rug.

At this moment, no one knows who attacked Dodger or why they did it.

Yet it looks like Hiram is behind the attack on the crime boss as not only did the incident take place after Archie spoke to Veronica’s dad, the attack itself seems like something he would orchestrate.

The mob boss has been known for his violent and destructive ways in the once quiet suburban town so it would be no surprise if he was behind it all.

Having just left prison as well, maybe he felt the need to reaffirm his place in Riverdale again.

In next week’s episode The Ice Storm, it looks like Archie is going to be getting the blame for the attack.

The episode’s promo shows a clip of Dodger of lying in a hospital bed.

A woman, which appears to be his mother, shouts at Archie: “I think you beat my boy into a coma. You’re gonna pay for what you’ve done.”

This is before she points a gun at the teenager at the community centre.

But will she shoot him? And will Archie get the blame for a crime he didn’t commit?

Riverdale continues every Thursday on Netflix.
