Rita Ora shares ‘lonely’ vocal warm up ahead of Soccer Aid performance


Rita Ora gave fans an insight into her warm-up exercise ahead of her half-time Soccer Aid performance at Stamford Bridge.

The singer shared a short video of herself buzzing her lips as she warmed up her vocal chords backstage.

The Instagram clip shows Ora humming along to a series of arpeggios as a recorded voice tells her to “take deep but silent breaths so you never want to gasp”.

She captioned the brief video: “Warm ups get lonely.”

Ora went on to perform her latest track Ritual, a collaboration with Tiesto and Jonas Blue, on a small stage in the centre of the football pitch, surrounded by back up dancers.

Her unusual outfit, a pair of jeans with one full leg and one short paired with a white t-shirt covered in cut-outs, was echoed in her dancers’ white and denim ensembles.

Afterwards, Ora shared a string of photos from the performance and thanked her “amazing” team for their hard work,.

“Thank you to my amazing dancers and the amazing crew who were part of my @socceraid #RITUAL performance tonight!” she wrote. “We really made some magic out there!”

Last night’s Soccer Aid match saw an England team made up of celebrities and former footballers go head to head against a world team with a star-studded international line-up in aid of UNICEF.

OIympic medallist Sir Mo Farah, actor Sam Claflin, former TOWIE star Mark Wright and McFly singer Danny Jones were among the famous faces on the England team and were joined by professionals including Michael Owen, Jamie Redknapp and Jamie Carragher. The squad was managed by Susanna Reid and Sam Allardyce.

Former One Direction star Niall Horan, Line of Duty’s Martin Compston, former sprinter Usain Bolt and Love Island’s Kem Cetinay featured on the winning World XI line-up, which was managed by Piers Morgan and Harry Redknapp.

This year’s game marked the first time that women have taken part, with former England players Rachel Yankey and Katie Chapman appearing in the England XI.

The game ended 3-2 to World XI after penalties. Morgan hailed his Soccer Aid victory the “greatest night of his life”.
